Without any toothpaste, insert the brush into hard to reach places first. Use light pressure, to insert the brush in between teeth. Make sure brush goes all the way through the gap. Do not force the brush into gaps, continue cleaning between the rest of the teeth. Wash the brush after cleaning two teeth, wash it with water.
Interdental brushes can also be used to clean the teeth with braces. For cleaning pass the brush on the sides of each brace and all along the orthodontic wire.
